Top University of Texas at Arlington alumni playing currently pro basketball

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Mavericks alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.



   #1. Johnny Hamilton (7'0''-C-94, graduated '18, plays pro in Turkey) could not help Darussafaka (5-13) in their game last Saturday. Despite his good performance Darussafaka was defeated91-87in a derby game by the lower-ranked Acibadem (#14). Hamilton scored 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 21 minutes. It's Hamilton's first season with the team. This year he averages 7.7ppg, 6.3rpg and 1.5bpg.

   #2. Karol Gruszecki (6'4''-G/F-89, graduated '13, plays in Poland) was not able to help Polski Cukier Torun in their game against Asseco Arka (14-8) in the Polish EBL, despite his very good performance in Friday night's game. Gruszecki was the second best scorer with 14 points. But Polski Cukier Torun lost82-75on the road to the lower-ranked (#5) Asseco Arka. It was Polski Cukier Torun's first loss after three consecutive victories. This year Gruszecki averages 9.0ppg, 3.0rpg and 2.0apg in seven games he played so far.

   #3. Kevin Hervey (6'9''-F-96, graduated '18, currently in the NBA G League) contributed to an easy victory against the Iowa Wolves (18-23) 122-107 in the NBA G League last Saturday. He recorded 7 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in 28 minutes. The Oklahoma City Blue has 20-19 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Hervey has relatively good stats this season 11.7ppg, 7.7rpg, 2.4apg and 1.3spg.

   #4. Anthony Walker (6'9''-F-93, graduated '15, plays pro in Bulgaria) was not able to secure a victory for Beroe (6-1) in their game against Levski Lukoil (17-2) in the Bulgarian NBL. Walker's contribution was not very remarkable in Monday's game. He recorded only 2 points, 4 rebounds and 2 blocks. The league leader Beroe was crushed98-68in Sofia by the second-ranked Levski Lukoil. It's Walker's first season with the team. This year Walker averages 8.3ppg and 4.8rpg in 19 games. He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

   #5. Jorge Bilbao (6'8''-F-95, graduated '17, plays in Spain) contributed to a 1-point Caceres Patrimonio de la Humanidad's victory against the closely-ranked Leche Rio Breogan (14-9) 77-76 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Friday night's game. Bilbao scored 10 points and had 3 steals in 20 minutes. Caceres Patrimonio de la Humanidad (13-10) is placed ninth in the LEB Gold. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Bilbao's first season with the team. This year he averages 8.2ppg and 5.4rpg.

   #6. Reger Dowell (6'1''-PG-91, graduated '14, currently in Dominican Republic) was the major contributor in CDP's victory against the closely-ranked CPN 103-99 in the Dominican Rep. Santiago League (second division) last Wednesday. Dowell scored 18 points and added 9 passes. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Dowell averages 15.5ppg, 2.8rpg and 4.4apg in eight games.

   #7. Erick Neal (5'10''-PG-95, graduated '18, plays pro in Turkey) led Fethiye to a victory over the ninth-ranked Manisa 86-78 in the Turkish TBL (second division) on Saturday night. He was MVP of the game. Neal scored 23 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 9 assists in 37 minutes. This season he has very high stats. Neal averages 18.0ppg, 5.8rpg, 8.9apg and 2.0spg. Worth to mention Neal played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

   #8. Experienced Marquez Haynes (6'3''-PG-86, graduated '10, plays in France) contributed to a 1-point Paris' victory against the closely-ranked JA Vichy 89-88 in the French ProB (second division) in Friday night's game. Haynes scored 11 points. It was his first game for Paris this season. He is a naturalized Georgian.

   #9. Jalen Jones (6'2''-G-95, graduated '17, currently in Brazil) contributed to a Sao Paulo's victory against the tenth-ranked Corinthians 89-80 in a derby game in the Brazilian NBB last Saturday. He scored 8 points in 23 minutes. This season Jones averages 3.9ppg and 1.6rpg.

   #10. Julian Harris (6'5''-F-96, graduated '18, plays pro in Canada) couldn't help the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans in their game against the Moncton Magic in the NBLCanada. Harris scored 6 points. His team were crushed by 34 points 109-75. This year he averages 2.8ppg and 1.9rpg in 20 games.
